HI,

I have XP Pro and I want to ghost the main C Drive with XP and programs to
another drive as a complete backup that I can just mount in case of failure.

Both drives are 80GB and partitioned exactly the same ie 2 partitions.

Can I just ghost the main C drive partition so that it will be fine if I have
to use it for the main drive if the other ones falls?

Is their anything I have to be aware of to do this?

Thanks

Ghost produces an image of the drive in one or more files. It doesn't just
copy the files across. Therefore you will need to restore the Ghost image
to another drive or location and use that as your boot drive.

Note that what Maincat told you is *not* correct. Ghost *can* produce an
image that works the way he said. But it also *can* produce a clone that
works the way you want it to. You are given the choice.

What's to prevent some pirate from installing clones on pc's not legally
licensed? Thanks.

Nothing excepting if cloned to different hw a repair install is required
thus activate etc, and if an OEM is cloned it might never work on different
hw

Then what I said is correct. It may not be a complete answer, but it is
correct as far as it went. Your apology will be accepted.
