This is actually an old problem that I though was related to the card I had.
I had since purchased a new one and still have the same problem.
When I first installed the card it was detected and operated fine. Was
listed correctly in device manager and my camcorder (Canon Vistura) worked
fine.
But, if the camcorder is not connected to the PC for some time, it seems as
though XP forgets about it. I can never get the camcorder to list again in
device manager. Unless I remove the card and reinsert (usually into the
same PCI slot.)
When I check the registry, I can see the camera properties are listed under
the AVC entry but cant's seem to get the camera working again.
Can anyone help?
