Recently got a new Dell computer with XP Home Edition OEM. As the computer was turned on for the first time, it asked for a name. At the time I did not think this was ireversable so I said "Bob". For some reason it would not just let me say "administrator" even though I have the privaleges. Now I have a system file folder named "Bob" that contains My Documents etc, and it will not let me change it. Would sort of like to change it to Administrtor like I have on my other computer running XP Pro

Also I cannot seem to password protect a folder, is there a key step I am missing. The "pass word protect" checkbox is grayed out when I look at it under sharing properties... Thx for any thoughts, Bob

Go to Start > Control Panel > User Accounts and click on
the "Bob" account icon. Then click on "change my name".

Windows XP does not have a "password protect folder" option.
You should setup an account and password-protect the account.
