I have a small network in the school where I teach machine shop and am using
windows xp professional as a server. A small problem i am having is the
limit of only 10 users accessing the server, when my software accesses the
server it only does so temporarrially to check if i have updated the lesson
the student is working on and if there is an update then it will download the
update to the local machine and no longer needs to talk to the server, until
i want to record the students mark. But even though there are not 10 student
computers accessing the server the 11 th person to try will not be allowed.
It is as if the server still thinks that one of the first computers to access
it is still in comunication with it. Is there a way to speed up how xp will
realize that the computer is not in contact with it?
