I'm having a major problem getting a group of computers
using New XP version to communicate within a workgroup.
They manage to see and access the web via the LAN and all
other shared resources in other workgroups (computers
running old XP, 2k and '98) but cannot see each other.
Strangely, the first computer to connect(whichever one of
the new computers it is) is able to see all other
stations in the workgroup, all others come up with "not
accessible" and "permissions" message - needless to say I
am logged on as administrator.

Does anyone have any ideas?

this is interesting case. can you ping other workstation by ip from the new
xp? If yes, what do you get if using net view \\otherpcip command and net
view \\otherpcname?
