Hi everyone,
I'm using WinMX right now, and it is doing pretty well
for me, however, there doesnt seem to be a whole lot of
songs compared to KaZaa, but I don't want to use Kazaa
after all the horror stories I've heard, and I've
actually experienced one of them before.
Two, maybe three questions, if you count the last one:
One: What is the Gnutella network, and how does it differ
from what KaZaa and WinMX use?
Two: Which one is better, in terms of no spyware,
crashes, and a good selection, Xolox, or Limewire?
Three: Is it actually true that you can choose on
LimeWire if you want the piggyback programs or not, or is
that false?

Thanks, shp

Most of the horror stories associated with Kazaa relate to the
spyware/adware bundled with it. I highly recommend the spyware-free version
of Kazaa, "KazaaLite K++" available here: http://www.k-lite.tk/ If you've
previously had Kazaa installed on your system, the spyware/adware may remain
to this day. Install and run AdAware to clean up all that crap:
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/

Have a look at the "Statistics" in the upper-right of this page:
http://www.slyck.com The FastTrack Network, which Kazaa (Lite!!) accesses
is by far the most popular- the more users online, the more files available.

The K++ version of Kazaa comes bundled with some very handy tools not
included in the official version of Kazaa- you can automatically search for
more sources, jump supernodes, etc.

Ian.

Good reply...however I failed to mention before that I
didn't want to pay for anything, and unless I'm mistaken,
KaZaa Lite requires moolah bucks. I will check though,
just to make sure.
By the way, it was on my old hard drive, KaZaa was, so
therefore no use to use AdAware there, however I have Ad-
Aware and Spybot S & D on my notebook now.

KazaaLite is completely free of charge, completely adware-free and
completely spyware-free. You must be thinking of "Kazaa Gold," which is
some scammers' way of making people pay for freeware.

Ian.
