Is there a short cut to cycle through one's selected newsgroups? What I have
been doing is after looking at one newsgroup pressing F8 to go to the next
group. But pressing F8 causes "catchup" which I do not want to do.

Hi
You might want to ask over at news.software.readers

Go to Special/Setup Xnews/Misc and look at the lower left side. There's a
check box for going to the next group when one group is finished.

If you just want to cycle through windows for groups you've already opened
you can set up a hot-key combo by clicking "Special>Keyboard Mapping" (or
just press alt-K)

"Next Window" and "Previous Window" are second and third from the very
bottom.

You can then even put icons on the toolbar and assign them "next" and "prev
window" commands by manually editing "Xnews.ini: Global settings." Click
"Help>Manual" and look in and around the [UserButtons] section for more
details.

If you're on windows, you don't need to make a special key combination.
Just hold CTRL and hit F6 repeatedly to go through the groups.

Also works on Word if you have several documents open.

All very fine but you did not read my question. I said I DO NOT WANT TO DO
CATCHUP Your suggestion will work when a catchup is done.
