XML file attachments will not open or save

I just recently applied SP3 to my Office XP and now I cannot open or save XML file attachments. I tried some suggested Security changes from http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/esecup/getexe.htm, but the addins do not list xml as a restricted file. I changed the registry also to allow for xml and it initially seems to allow me to save the file but when I tried it told me the permissions would not allow me to save the file. Any Ideas? My op system is XP professional
 
You mean attachments with the extension .xml? What happens when you try to
open or save them?
