XL97 watch window hangs

If I set a watch on ActiveSheet, expand it, then expand Cells, XL97
maxes the CPU for at least a couple of minutes (then I terminate the
process). Is this a known or correctable issue?

XL97 SR-1 (I can't check other versions right now). Moreover are there
other compelling reasons to upbang the service release?

TIA

Hi Bill,

I'm not sure what you're getting at. Just don't add ActiveSheet.Cells as
a watch expression and you shouldn't have any problem. I can't think of any
situation where you would need or want this to be a watch expression.

Thank you for responding, Rob. I sense that you want to know why I
would do such a "ludicrous" thing in the first place: from time to time
I browse through the watch tree to see if it has a property whose
contents match something that I'm looking for. Sure, that is lame; but
I don't have 100% recall of VBA properties 100% of the time, and frankly
this "pecking" leads me to the objective remarkably often and normally
quite quickly. To pop open one called "Cells" is hard to resist,
without a mental or physical post-it note telling me it's verboten.

Poor practice? Well, potentially; I police myself on this and
investigate the property if it's one I'm weak or clueless on; but many
times it's simply a case of "I couldn't remember which property 'by
heart'" AAR call it stupid to click Cells if you want, but realize that
the consequences can be painful for what IMVHO is an "innocent" click.

I appreciate your attention and the numerous helpful replies you give
here. Many of them are keepers :)
