Sometimes when I start Excel, as soon as I enter a
character or something in a cell, a warning message pops
up stating:
'EXCEL.exe has generated errors and will be closed by
Windows. You will need to restart the program. An error
log has been generated.'
When I look in the DrWatson log file, the following
segment has been inserted:
'Application exception occurred:
App: (pid=2324)
When: 7/15/2004 @ 23:22:55.073
Exception number: c0000005 (access violation)

Sometimes I can open an older spreedsheet where the
problem does not exist, and I can open a new workbook
without a problem.
I've tried to delete the Excel.xld file, as I thought the
fault might have been in the template file, but it did not
fix it.
I'm running the following machine:
Running Excel 2000 on Office 2000
on Dell Latitude P4
Any help would be appreciated.
