I wonder if someone could help me with this problem. I am new to this forum, so I hope that I am posting this thread in the right place.
I am trying to set up my investments in an Excel spreadsheet, and I am having trouble with the XIRR formula. I'll use some round numbers to illustrate the problem.
I am setting up the dates in column K, dollars in L, and the formula in M
K13 31-Jul-02 L13 $40,000
K14 31-Dec-05 L14 $46,000
Fomula entered in M14 is =XIRR(L13:L14,K13:K14,0.1)
This calculates a compound annual return of 0%, which is wrong, and the tag that appears to the left says "Formula omits adjacent cells."
Obviously I am doing something wrong and would really appreciate some help.
Thanks
