Does anybody no the proceedure for transferring all the
contents from one hardrive to another new hardrive in a
Windows 2000 operating system.

I'm trying to make an exact copy (operating system,
hidden files, everything). I've does this before in 98
operating system, for some reason, I can't make it
operate in the 2000 system.

You won't be able to do this just by copying. There are some files that
will be locked and cannot be accessed, even for copying. I suggest using a
drive imaging software package. I believe that Powerquest makes that or
something?

When I said, "I believe Powerquest makes that" I thought that I had
mentioned "Ghost," an imaging package. I forgot to type that. But now that
I think about it more, I think it's actually Symantec.

also.

And Partition Magic (and others) can also often do Disk-to-Disk copy.

Dolly is good too. It's popular for imaging a TiVo drive, but I'm sure it'd
work great on any system, as it's a bit-for-bit copier. Always back up your
TiVo and keep the backup hard drive in your freezer! :]
