Xbox wireless controller for PC not showing up in Halo CE menu

Hi all -
I cannot seem to get the wireless 360 pad for PC to show up in Halo PC. I
have updated the drivers. Also the controller light is flashing constantly -
does that mean anything as i've not used one before. I was sure you would be
able to use this thing for Halo ?
