is the xbox 360 funny with what type of batteries u get

Am using the wireless pad and got some AA batteries today from poundland(the six pack ones).

they did,nt work but when i put in a better brand like Duracell Batteries they work

Dud batteries? Do they work in other devices?

Sometimes you need good alkaline batteries to power certain types of device. For example, my old camera would refuse to work with almost all re-chargable batteries and non-alkaline AA's. I have to admit, I would have thought the controller would work with almost anything - but perhaps not.

You can get dedicated recharable battery packs for the xbox controllers, which should work well and be cheaper in the long run anyway:

There's a shop near me called "Home Bargains" and they sometimes have 8-12 packs of alakine AA's for a quid :)

may get the recharable battery pack again for the xbox , since recharable battery refuse to work .shame because i got a few of them.

I use the venoms.....they're great....as Tony used to say. Joking aside the venoms come in pairs so one is always charging. I'd recommend them. Otherwise you will be robbed buying batteries.
What games are ya playing ?

I've got the venoms, bought them after seeing Ian's link, used to use rechargeable batteries but they don't last very long any more. Impressed so far. :)

FWIW I use rechargeable AA & AAA cells in most things that need them except the Xbox cordless controllers I have and clocks. My Logi wireless PC controller uses rechargeables.

I've used a lot of different makes of rechargeables and after years have figured Duracell and RS's own make are both good, as long as you buy the larger current versions.

My Xbox cordless controllers ate up every kind of battery except the standard duracell AA cells so I use those in them, they do last a long time, even with lots of force feedback. And they're usually on sale in Asdas for half price which is good.

Never heard of the Venoms, will have to look into them.
