Curious as to which vid-card to buy. I can see the x850 pro has a 500mhz gpu
and 256mb of 256 bit DDR3 RAM at usually 500mhz, 12 pixel pipelines but
can another four be opened via soft mod? I read one pricegrapler (TG stores)
review; they said the following:

Excellent Card for the Buck
Strengths: 1. Awesome performance in 3D games. 2. AGP 3. Inexpensive
relative to other cards on the market 4. Quiet
Weaknesses:
1. Only 12 pipelines 2. AGP 3. Catalyst Control Center is slow and
useless 4. Could not get it to softmod
Summary: Bought the card thinking I could get it to an X850XT PE by
flashing it with the PE Bios. Didn't work, lots of black screens, crahses,
etc, so I reflashed it back to the regular X850 Pro. It runs well in games
for the price ($250) and is very quiet for a mid-highend videocard.
---------------
Me the OP:
Does anyone know better, or if there is another (other than ATI) brand
that is more flexible than this?
Any advice much appreciated, TIA
