Hi

Just bought a sapphire X800Pro boxed and want to know how is it possible
to read GPU temperature and/or fan speed.

Thanks

I believe ATITools and ATI Tray Tools will read both and even let you
set the fan spped.

They will, however for the temperature reading you can use ATi's drivers
themselves. The ATi control panel shows the temperature in the Overdrive
tab.

I have no overdrive tab ! I am using cat 5.6 +control center. I was able tu
read temp using rivatuner.

Overdrive was removed from Catalyst drivers some time ago. ATI claims that
it's improving the feature and that it will come back in the future.
Personally, I don't believe them. The feature was removed long time ago and
it would have been updated and re-introduced back into Catalyst by now.

Uh.. 5.6 without CCC still has the Overdrive feature. I'm running them now and
have the tab. I don't use the CCC version until they force us to in a few
months. I havn't installed the new 5.7's yet.. but I'm sure the Overdrive
feature is there as well.

Besides.. I wouldn't use overdrive anyway.. so its mute point.
(Powerstrip,Radlinker,ATI Tool.. etc)

what's this? force us to have the ccc requiring .net? is this true? i
really hope not. i like ati cards but there's a definite limit on how
much crap i'm willing to put up with.
one of my machines has a 9700pro but no .net as i never use it for the
web, in fact its actually denied in my router config. i use it as a
media server, having the vid playing on the tv & sound digi out to the
dac & vlc to stream audio or video to any pc on the lan
with some luck, omega will release a filleted, driver-only version
shortly after ati's releases.

I'll post the link to the sad news that CCC will be standard soon when I can
find the link..

Not good. We will have to use .net to continue to use ATI drivers in the future.

Like doctor.ratt says we can only hope that the Omegas still offer the
non-CCC version.
