Hi y'all,
Realize MS doesn't call x64 a beta, but there doesn't appear to be an NG for
it. And, seeing as how it's fairly new, thought this would be the place to
go. Any way, to the point, I have a dual boot system, XP Home (32 bit) and
XP Pro x64 (64 bit) on an 64 bit AMD system. I have to have both O.S.
because there are no webcam drivers available yet in x64.
Problem 1: Often times x64 freezes up during shutdown. I have not, as yet,
been able to duplicate, and thus locate, the offending program, action that
causes this, but even though it is intermittent, it occurs fairly
frequently. I have not noticed this problem when running the 36 bit O.S.
(thus eliminating the hardware). Any one any ideas? Suffering the same
malady?
Problem 2: The 32 bit OS loaded but refused to run a 32 bit program (Need
for Speed II SE - yes, it's old). Any ideas?
Thanks.
Robert
