Hi folks

This is the first game I couldn't run. Any ideas how to make this work, it
was originally designed to work with 98SE, ME, and XP, as far as I'm aware.
TIA.

What error messages do you get?

Hi, I have the same problem I think. The installation program starts ok and I accept the licence agreement. It then goes to the (Install destination folder) which is correct and accept. The installation starts for about 1 second then it says " the installation was interrupted before X2 - The Threat could be completely installed"

I did not cancel anything. I also tried with the compatibility settings (all), and also set to run as administrator with no luck.

My system specs can be found here:

Cheers in advance.

Hi Ian

Looking at the specs on your rig it covers all the appropriate bases. Have
you got a firewall, sometimes if you have a firewall active it interferes
with the installation, in fact it is always a good idea to quit any programs
running in the background, that are not necessary for the PC, to function.
You probably already know this, but it surprising how many people don't do
it. Then again I have just moved up from 98 to VHP, and I'm not sure what I
can close down and what I can't.

Once you do manage to install the game and all the updates, make sure you
install the NOCD patch last and that it installs to the X2 folder where the
X2.exe is. I wasn't paying attention to where the patch was being extracted
too and it caused me quite a few problems. HTH.

Hi PJ

I had no end of problems trying to get it to run. Once you install the
patches that bring you up to 1.4, install the Artificial Life patch and then
install the NOCD patch. The only thing to make sure is that you extract the
NOCD patch into the X2 folder, which is where I was going wrong I was just
extracting the patch and assumed it was going where it was supposed to go.
Once I did that installed fine and runs. HTH.
