I still have 2 weeks to decide whether to keep my X1900 GT or exchange it
for a X1950 Pro. According to reviews, the Pro seems better than the GT in
every aspect (it even runs cooler than the GT). Would you exchange?

I'm running a X1950 Pro, I have everything turn on in Oblivion, all
textures, effects, and at 1280x1024. I'm not sure what all the hub-bub is
about blooming (sp?). So things have a glow to them. Big deal, but they
are their. I do enjoy the high-resolution and detail, and distance
rendering. Much better than my old system.

I've never seen a X1900 GT run, so I have no reference to tell you which is
best.

But how much more are you going to have to lay out for the other card? Does
your card have 256megs of RAM or 512? I went with the 256 x1900xt because it
was almost $100 cheaper the 512 model. JLC

At full load the X1950 Pro system draws only 7 W less than the X1900GT
system at the wall. Figure in a state-of-the-art PSU efficiency of 80%, it
means the X1950 Pro dissipates 6 W less than the X1900GT. You won't see much
of a difference in heat.

Note that both the X1900GT and X1950 Pro can run in Crossfire mode without
dongle.

IMHO it's not worth the trouble to switch, especially if you bought it
online and have to pay for shipping both ways.
