Hello,

I'm about to order an X1900 XTX but realize they are releasing the X1950
shortly. Has anyone heard any confirmed price drops on the X1900 XTX - I
have heard rumors of price drops on the X1900 but not the XTX model.

Thanks.

Why would you get the XTX instead of the cheaper XT? The differences are 4%
in core speed and 6% in memory. In games the effect would be akin to going
from 60 to 62 fps - actually within the margin of error of
framerate-counting utilities.

Good question - hard to say. I've seen variances of up to 15% - depends on
what site you go to. The price difference is about $30. At some point I
have to draw a line at what I'm willing to put up with for performance -
frankly even if I had a 7950, I'd want faster but there is eventually a
point where my price tolerance intersects with the cards available. You
might ask why not get a 7950GT - about $300 and similar performance to the
1900. It is a valid question - just hard to give a good metric for my
answer. I'd ask Thorstein Veblin what he thinks.
