X axis problem in a chart

The chart wizard did not use my numbers for the x axis.
How do I get the chart wizard to use my numbers? The
column has been formatted to numbers, not text, as
suggested by the help. However, this did not change the
default that the wizard obviously uses for x axis.

Are you creating a line chart? If so, one of the 'improvements' MS
made to the wizard results in this problem. One way out is to remove
the header cell for the x-values and then use the wizard. Another is
to leave the data alone, proceed to step 2 of the wizard, and select
the Series tab. Now, copy the formula in the Series 1 Values field
into the 'Category (X) axis labels' field, and then delete Series 1.
