I have a client who uses Outlook 2003 and has tried to save all of his
contacts in the contacts of his mailbox. The contacts folder is enabled as
an outlook address book in his profile. All of his personal contacts are
saved in this contacts folder. The problem is that a user name that was
resolved from the GAL is recognized as an X.400 address, not the SMTP
address. He needs the SMTP address so when he hotsyncs his palm pilot, he
has the correct smtp address for these people. Any idea why the X.400
address is being pulled into the contact record?

Thanks,
Allen

That's normal for an email address pulled from and Exchange Server GAL. To
get the SMTP address for GAL entries, use one of the methods listed here:

Making the Exchange Server GAL Portable

If you have LDAP running on the Exchange Server, you can also lookup a user
with it and get the SMTP address.
