I have two W2K office systems in my company. Both use
automatic update and are updated to SP4. Sometimes the
icon appears telling me that WU has downloaded updates I
should install. Is that mechanism hackable; I am concerned
that one day I will install an update which in fact isn't
legitimate. One came over this morning that showed W2K
version 5.4.3630.2554 "built by lab 04_n" which aroused my
suspicion since it did not say "Microsoft". Then my
firewall detected wuauclt.exe trying to access the
Internet and said it had changed; but that could be
because I just upgraded to SP4. Help!
Jeff (please reply by email, I will never find this board
again!)
