WU Temporary folder

I recently downloaded and later installed Microsoft
patches to WindowsXP. All of the files, though
installed, still remain in the WU Temporary folder. Can
these be safely deleted?

Go to run,type:%temp%
Then open edit in new window,select all,delete.
