WTF is with IE...

Can anyone tell me why IE will all-of-a-sudden not be able to open up links
saved to a desktop, from email, from xnews (newsreade,) or anything else
that isn't IE. Anyone know why this happens? Know how to fix it? Know
how to keep it from happening again?

hyperlinks not working has been mentioned in passing by a few who thought
it might be a symptom of the W32.Blaster.worm since it's been in the news
the last few days...

Taking a guess here: Under the tools \internet options \ programs tab
you might try checking the area that asks internet explorer to check
that it is the default... particularly if you've been trying other
browsers. Apply\okay your way out. Then close out IE and reopen.
