Hi,

I am trying to set up the GPO for WSUS in a 2000 domain (the WSUS
server is w2k3, however).

I am applying the GPO at the OU level through Windows XP (I downloaded
the w2k3 administrative tools pack).

However, I just can't get the changes to be pushed to the
workstations. I have seen the replication being performed accross the
domain controlers, but I just can't get the workstations to see the
settings (if you look at the local GPO the settings are still not
set).

Any suggestions to troubleshoot this, including possibly finding out
which is the active GPO that the workstation is seeing/using?

Thanks.
Andrew.

hey there. check the OU you created in Active Directory Users and
Computers (ADUC). make sure that the computer names of your
workstations are in there. after doing that, go back to GPMC, remove
the default "Authenticated Users" in the scope tab and add the computer
names (only) of your workstations.

wait for the updates to replicate across DCs then force the update on
one workstation and check. well at least this is how i got WSUS to work
for my workstations.

hth.

Did this - made some OUs for the workstations and everything is now
working fine.

Does anyone know how to get the domain joining process to put the
machine in the correct OU though now?

Thanks.
Andrew.
