WSS (Windows Sound System)

I was installing XP when in the middle of installation my
computer did some stange things and then my screen froze.
When I tried to reinstall XP, it issued a report that
windows sound system (wss) was missing. Where does one go
to find an installation site for wss?

Its part of the package. Were you doing a clean install (highly recommended)
or n upgrade (dodgy at the best of times) ?

Ideally you should back up all your data, format the HD and clean install -
I tried an upgrade and it caused X amount of problems.
