Wrong website

Hi,

When I launch my Internet Explore and type in a preferred
website, I don't get the website of my choice, I am sent
to a different website other than the one that I actually
put in. I have attempted to uninstall the Internet Explore
but it does not allow me to even go back to 4.0, What
shall I do because I can't even use the internet beyond
that particular home page.
