Wrong meeting organizer

I set up a public folder for a departmental calendar, works fine. The
problem is, that every sings appointment created in this calendar has
myself listed as the meeting organizer even though I clearly am not!
Any ideas?

I am having a similar problem in my tasks and calendar folders and would like
to know the answer as well.
 
The only way that I have found is to view the calendar in a tabular
view, by category for example, and then you can add the organizer field
with the field chooser.

Alternatively I imagine you could create a custom form for these
meetings which included the organizer field, but I haven't looked into
that.

You might want to consider whether a calendar in a public folder is the
best solution for you, it might be better to set up a resource mailbox.
