I have installed Windows XP on an ASUS Terminator PC with
build in compact flash card reader. The Hard Disk has been
assigned as E: If I try to re-assign a new drive letter
C: in disk managementI am told that this cannot be changed.
Does anyone have a resolution to this problem. I have
checked the KBN but this just tells me to do what the
system will not allow.

I have now disconnected the CF card and reinstalled XP and
now I have a C: Drive, all is required is to reconnect the
CF card and let windows detect it!

Unless you are prepared to wipe everything out and start over there is
nothing that you can do to change the drive letter for the boot drive.

There are too many registry entries that use the boot drive letter so
changing the letter would be impossible.

Having Windows on drive E: will in no way affect the usability or the
performance of the computer.

Good luck
