wrong decimals

Trying to enter whole numbers p.e. 3 Excel writes 0.03 whilst the
properties of the cel are defined standard with zero decimals. What goes
wrong and how do I correct this?

goto 'Tools - Options - Edit' and uncheck 'fixed decimals'
