Hi,

Whenever I try to create a folder on a CDR or DVD I get the error message
"File system error (16389)" . There are hundreds of hits returned in a
Google search but none that really help. Any of you knowledgeable folk got
any ideas.

Thanks in advance.

Hi

Which 3rd party CD/DVD program are you using?

First, when did this start? If you think it started after the latest
Windows Updates, see this:

Problems in Windows Explorer or the Windows shell after you install
security update MS06-015
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/918165

A revised update should be available on the 25th.

If that isn't relevant and/or doesn't fix your problem, swap out the
drive for a known-working one. If that solves the problem, discard the
original drive.

For what it's worth, I'm writing music to CDs (CD-R & CD-RW) with Nero
on a Dell with W/XP Pro which I believe has all the latest updates.

The only time I found Nero to not work well was:

1. Right after I upgraded the boxen to SP2 - Nero needed an update which
I got (free) from Ahead's site.

2. I had a number of burns fail - it turned out to be a bad drive. Put
in a better one and voila! no more problems with Nero.

Hi

I use both Nero and Roxio (4 various reasons) without any problems. Open
Nero and hit F1 4 some help.
