Write Error

When trying to reinstall (recover) xp on a laptop using the recover cd's I get a write
error. Is there are piece of software around that will fit on a floppy that can attempt to
repair the disk?

Can you run SCANDISK from the Windows CD????

No. I can get to dos via a floppy boot disk but only command that works is vol.
 
Do you have Format.com on the floppy?
