Write a snail mail letter from contact card

It's 2009 and I own Outlook 2007 only to find out that I can't simply apply a
few clicks to write a snail mail letter to a specific contact. Is this true;
the only way to write a letter is with mail merge process?

Anybody know of add-ins that will allow me to write letters quickly with
just a few clicks?
 
Use Word rather than Outlook. In Word, use the Mailings option and Select
Recipients.

Slightly easier way than Millie's..
In Word add the Addressbook icon to your QAT.
Then start a New document, click on the Addressbook icon, choose the contact
and the mailing address will be inserted into your document..
 
it is ridiculous that the write a letter option in a contact was removed from
2007. Very dissapointing as a heavy user of the programs!

This suggestion for the address icon in my QAT bar worked for me with our
global contacts as well as personal.

Err so why isn't the new way as good as the old? Surely there's NO
DIFFERENCE!

New letter to contact was buggy so they removed it. You can either use
the insert address command (really no harder than starting in contacts,
except most people are already in Outlook and new letter to opened Word
for you) or copy the address from a custom view in contacts -

Oh, and you could use mail merge - a bit overkill for a single letter
(unless you need more fields), but it opens word for you.

WOW! Outlook has taken a giant step backwards in their programing! The required steps needed to send a letter make the 2007 version a much better program than this newer version.
