WP Upgrade/Internet failure

I have upgraded to XP Home from ME. The upgarde which
allowed me to maintain original files seemed unstable as
every time I went to the Internet the machine restarted
after telling me their was a premature Remote Connection
discoonnect. I decided to use the new XP operating system
option to wipe out the old files entirely thinking this
would respolve me problem. Unfortunately this did not
solve my problem. The machine still restarts after a 60
second warning. Any simple fix for a non computer person?
 
It sounds like you may be infected with the Blaster virus
or one of its variants.
What you need to do is firewall your connection to the
internet before going on the internet. this can be done
by the going into properties of your connection and going
to the advanced tab. Check on the ICF.
you then need to goto the windows update site and get the
critical updates. You should then download the fixblast
removal tool from symantec website.

It sounds like your system is infected with the Blaster Worm.

Use Start> Run and type in
shutdown -a
to abort the shutdown.
