wowexec.exe, shows in process viewer YET has ZERO bytes of ram
usage/cpu usage either.

I searched on google. I was unable to come to a conclusion as to
whether it's a virus/trojan. Many pages said maybe or yes, but not one
was sure.

Any clues on wowexec.exe ?

its a process of windows, which I am sure you have seen that in your googling, it could be
infected unlikely but if you have a worry, extract a good copy from your XP disk..or the
I386 folder

So just copy paste the good version from my Xp disk to BOTH locations
on the c:windows\system32 and c:windows\system32\dllcache???

BTW, I've noticed lately by drive will just go into some crazy mode
and start chattering, like it's degragmenting which it's not, and this
goes on for several minutes??? Anything to that??

thanks

yes (the cache is just a redundacy)

I use NOD32 not Norton. Can you explain "indexing service" as a cause
for this crazy disk activity for no reason?
