I have AS Rock K7S41 Motherboard and want to upgrade my CPU. I want to install a AMD Athlon 3200+ FSB 400 CPU BUT according to AS Rock website it only mentions AMD Athlon 3200+ FSB 333 as the maximum it supports based on this................ http://www.asrock.com/mb/download.asp?Model=K7S41

So will this FSB difference of 67 overkill my motherboard? What will happen? I dont want overclocking etc.

Don't think it would mate, even if you were into overclocking.

Unless you are on a extreme budget i would suggest getting a new motherboard.

Or you could lower the FSB on the CPU and increase the Multiplier so you don't lose any speed.

For about £120 you could get a pretty decent dual core cpu ,memory and a decent psu . Just a thought .

You will only be able to fit cpus as advised by the manufacturer.

Have just been advised by my bro (he used to work for a prestigious custom PC firm, before they taken over by Dell).

Apparently i am wrong, it will work but as he put it

"It would be like trying to sueeze a cucumber through a smarties tube"

You will lose a lot of power from the CPU so is very little point in upgrading, unless as Abarbarian says you upgrade your system.
