Would Like to Completely Uninstall .NET

The Add or Remove Programs screen does not show that .NET is installed,
yet Windows Update wants to install some patches/upgrades for .NET 1.1
and 2.0.

I have tried my best to clean up things using Microsoft's KB824643 but
Windows Update persists...

I know that I can tell Windows Update to ignore such patches/upgrades,
but I would like to completely get rid of .NET. It has been a pain
since day one for me...

Any suggestions?

Look in the \Windows\Microsoft.net\ folder and sub-folders and
delete/remove/uninstall as you see fit or can find an uninstaller.

Hi.
I use Windows XP SP2.
There must be a remaining trace of .NET somewhere on my PC...
Thanks.

Did you even try to do what I suggested?

Yes, I downloaded the utility, installed it, and ran it. It shows all
kind of programs installed but .NET is not one of them. So I did not do
anything else with the utility. Am I missing something?
