I think I'm gonna downgrade to XP to try and solve my sound problem. Plus
it'll help me sort out a few other compatability issues I've been having but
now I need to know if I snould buy the home edition upgrade or the full
version. Its like a hundred dollar difference.

Hi RyanH,

You can use the upgrade version providing you have a legitimate copy of an
older operating system such as Win98SE. You do not need to install Win98SE in
order to install this version of XP. During setup, you will be asked to
insert your copy of Win98SE into your machine. After it has checked the disk,
you can reinsert the XP upgrade disk and continue from there. As for your
sound problem, keep checking the manufacturers website for updated drivers.
If you installed Vista using an upgrade version over an existing operating
system, you might like to check out my post 'Clean Install Windows Vista
Using Upgrade Media' in the newsgroup 'Windows Vista Installation and Setup'
for detailed instructions. A clean install might help with some of your other
problems as well.

If it's a new computer, check with the mfg. to see if they offer a downgrade
CD set. Many do.
