Have you ever had a program nag you so badly you finally just had to get
rid of it?

Which nagware programs are the worst you've ever experienced?

I just dumped Paperless Printer after it spent about a half hour on my
computer. The thing is relentless!

I didn't like the way it worked anyway, so I won't miss it.

The free version of the RISK-like game at www.dominategame.com. At one point
it had a nag-screen which would pop up in the middle of the game. If it was
your turn, with only 45 seconds to play, a 20 second long nag screen
effectively wrecked the game and in particular circumstances forced you to
time-out and lose the game.
They have made it more playable now though.

Two actually. Smart FTP really began to nag me the more I used it.
Diskeeper lite is the other one. Keeping it from being nagware is easy,
but it still was a pain (not to mention bloated and inefficient).
------------

For 9X systems: remove DiskKeeper Lite from the *path* in your
Autoexec.bat file. Reboot.

Go to the DK folder in Program Files, and create a sub-folder
named 'no show' or name it whatever you like (this will save the
extra files rather than deleting them).

Next, place the 'show html' executable file as well as the 'HTML'
folder in the newly created folder. Done.

Now you can launch the Program from the desktop with the shortcut
that is created during the install.

Then why is it consistently recommended by this group? How would it be any
different than, say, pdf995?

The older sponsored versions of Eudora (which is admittedly not
freeware) had moments when its popup boxes were truly maddening.
This might still be the case. I don't know!

Just curious. I still use Paperless Printer periodically. Except for the
small creen that pops up after your print job which disappears with a mouse
click (think of it as a confirmation screen rather than a nag screen) does
it nag you in any other way?

Becaus it is like the only printer that doesmore as printing to PDF #AND#
(this can also be important) it does keep the created PDF/JPG/DOC/XLS free
of 'created by labels'

But if all you need was PDF files and both PDF995 and Paperless Printer
can be considered nagware, wouldn't PDF995 be better recommended?
(produces smaller files than paperless; done some testing)
