website that SYMANTEC offered from links after
discovering the worm and offered a program to download
and run that involved turning off system restore and
removing registry entries that the worm caused. the
problem was solved after that [svchost need help finding link and how to remove registry entries]thank you

Would it possible for you topost the address that
Symantec gave you as i have a similiar problem.
Antivirus says that the svshost is corrupt. i have tried

the tool that i used was specific for the worm that i
had. i would recommend getting norton 2003 (at least)
and installing and running the program so it can tell you
specifically what virus you have. your symptoms about
that svchost.exe file taking up 100% cpu usage was just
that, a symptom, but if you cant get the software and
want to assume you have the save worm, i suppose it cant
hurt to run the virus removal tool anyway, so either go
to www.symantec.com, link to download virus removal
tools, my virus program detected W32.Welchia.Worm, and
waalllaa, full instructions and a link to download. here
is the url that i copied if you just want to go straight
there....http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/ven

thanks fro your help i already had NAV2003 installed but
the SYMANTEC page did not have a listing for my virus. I
found some useful informamation on the site that got rid
of my problem by rebooting in SAFE mode and running Virus
scanner and it got rid if the virus. thanks again
