I have XP Prof, and run AVG Anti virus. I have noticed that in my virus
vault, I have the above worm.
AVG have put it in the vault, but it says that my comp is infected and that
it is unhealable.
Is it safe just to stay in the virus vault. I have experienced no problems
with my computer since I became infected in April.
Thanking you in advance
Denise

Generally speaking its safe in there, though you might like to empty it
eventually. Personally I usually erase it with a file 'destroyer'.

I'm sure someone more knowledegable will be along shortly.

Hi Denise.

The only references I am finding via Google about this worm is about Blaster
worm. Here you have some links to check about it.
http://vil.nai.com/vil/content/v_100547.htm
http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.blaster.worm.html
http://www.microsoft.com/security/incident/blast.mspx

And here is the link where it says it is the same as Blaster worm
http://www.mcmedia.com.au/newsletter/issue.asp?Month=August&Year=2003

Since your PC is running without trouble I assume it is not a threat any
more.

Best luck,

Gunilla.
