workstation creating domain list hangs

We have recently installed an active directory domain and
have begun to reinstall workstation to XP and joining them
to the new AD domain. Once the machine has been joined to
the domain, it reboots to the login screen but begins to
hang with a message box stating "Creating Domain List"
once you try to choose the domian you wish to login to.
There are several trusted NT domains but I'm not sure that
is the issue. Any insight would be appreciated!

I've had this happen to me only once just after restoring a computer from
Ghost and removing/re-adding it to the domain. In that situation, I just
left the computer for about 10 mins and when I came back (and ever since) it
worked fine.

My unjustified suspicion is that it was related to the computer account
trying to auth against the domain.
