Whenever I change, some change in worksheet, it starts recalculating formula
everytime thereby taking so much time to return to READY Mode. Earlier it was
not the case. What should be done to return to orginal condition?

It may so happen that when the workbook size increases .

you may split your data into more than one workbook.

This happens in small sized files also. I have also verified in "option" menu
that calculation is in `automatic' mode.

Can anybody help me out?

Select all the blank rows below your data. To do this select the first row
below your data that does not have any data and then hold Ctrl/Shift and
press down arrow.

Then select Clear All (Not just Clear and you CANNOT use the right mouse
button). In xl2007 the Clear All is on the Home ribbon in the Editing box at
the right hand end. In earlier versions select menu item Edit -> Clear ->
All.

Then select the first unused column to the right of your data and hold
Ctrl/Shift and press the right arrow and then Clear All as above.

Save the workbook and then re-open it and see if it makes a difference.

I don't guarantee it but I have had it work on a number of occasions. I have
assumed that with constant use of the workbooks some spurious formatting or
something gets into the vacant cells.
