After Google seach I am still at a lose, please help.

I have a 3-D Pie Chart in Excel, six slices.
I need to create an effect that will bring each slice into a slide, on at a
time, putting the chart together.
Can this be done - Powerpoint 2002?

Many thanks for your time.
Dudley

Thank you for the response, but that did not help. I apologize if my
explaination was inadequate.
What I am trying to do, after Ungrouping the Excel Pie Chart, is to have
each individual piece of the Pie Chart slide onto a slide such that the chart
will be recreated one piece at a time.
Thanks

I think that your question was fine, Dudley.

You can animate a chart by series or category, but since you've already
ungrouped the chart, you'll want to regroup the individual fills and lines so
that each wedge is a grouped "set." Then you'll animate in each of those.

Right-click one and choose "custom animation." Then, in the custom animation
task pane, click "add effect" and give the wedge an effect. (A wipe from the
left might be good -- add the wipe effect, then set it to come in from the
left using the dropdowns in the custom animation task pane.)

Do the same for each wedge. The default setting will be for the wedges to
come in "on mouse click." That means you have to click for each wedge. If you
want to just click once, then leave the first wedge set at "on mouse click,"
and set the others to animate "after previous."

Once you get the first animation added, the other settings in the task pane
are fairly obvious. Holler back if you need more info.

You're very welcome, Dudley.

I should mention that, as you go 'round the pie, you may want to change the
"wipe from" direction so that the animation flows better. There's also a
"wedge" animation that might be good -- I know it works well for a whole pie,
anyway.

Also, if you want to keep your chart intact, try this on a new chart before
you ungroup it -- right-click to choose custom animation, add an entrance
effect, and then click the arrow next to the animation in the task pane (or
just double-click the animation in the task pane). Select "effect options"
and check the Chart Animations tab there. Choose "by category" in the
drop-down on the Chart Animations tab, and see if that doesn't do what you
want.

Just be aware that "by category" may not be available depending on what
animation you've chosen. "Boomerang" animation, for instance, can only be
applied to the whole pie chart, not to an individual category.

With PP2002 it is also possible to animate slices without converting
the chart components to objects (with Ungroup/Group). And, yes, it is
less flexible than the ungroup option.

Just animate the chart. Then double-click the animation object (in the
task pane). In the resulting dialog box, from 'Chart Animation' tab,
select Group chart 'by category'
