I am trying to work remotely to a friends computer. when i do everyting it
gets hung up and i get the following message.

A remote assistance connection could not be established because the DNS name
of the remote could not be resolved.

It sounds like the PC requesting remote assistance is on a non-commercial
internet service and behind a firewall, so it is having trouble being
reached. Is there any way your friend can modify the file being e-mailed to
you by windows to have the actual IP address being issued to him by his ISP?
Then maybe your computer could go directly to that IP address instead of
trying to use DNS to resolve it. It's worth a shot...
