working remotely

It is possible to be able to shut down the host and restart the host from
remote access. I am remotely connected to my work computer from my home
computer and I would like to be able to download updates which require
restarting my work computer and I don't seem to be able to have that option
to restart.

Full screen, CTRL+ALT+END --> then you should have the option.
More archaic than that would be a
Start button --> RUN --> shutdown -r -t 30 -f -c "Rebooting... 30 seconds."
OK
 
Try this it will workout....

Start/Run or open command prompt and type "shutdown /s" on remote computer.
