We have an old Access 97 db that we need access to (so to speak). The
developer who originally created this file is no longer with the
organization. One user who has been here for 10 years is still able to
access the DB, but we are unable to grant access or permissions to new users.
These new users have full access to the file system, but when trying to
access the DB they receive the following message: "You do not have the
necessary permissions to use the '\\servername\sharename\filename.mdb'
object. Have your system administrator or the person who created this object
establish the appropriate permissions for you."
How do we go about upgrading this DB to the Access 2003 or 2007 and allowing
new users to access the DB ? Most of our other apps use MS SQL Server now
and we no longer have any Access developers on staff. TIA ...
