Workgroup computers view goes bad

When I first reboot, and look at Workgroup computers (usually via the
My Network Places left pane shortcut), I normally see the Workgroup
name and the name of each of the two computers that belong to it, each
with the expansion plus symbol next to it. But, also "normally", a
later look, on the same day or later (but with no reboot in between)
shows only one of the two computers that belong to the workgroup. -
This does *not* actually prevent me from accessing the missing
computer, which I can do via a click on the name of one of its Places
on the My Network Places list. - What could be causing the Workgroup
computers view to change from its bootup state, and is there anyway I
might fix it?
TIA for any clues.
