Workgroup Authentication Issues

I just installed Vista B2 on my laptop and ame trying to connect to 2 systems
in my home network. One is my desktop running Windows XP SP2 and the other
is a Mac OS X server.

In connecting to both of these systems in the past, I have always used the
computername\username and password combination for credentials and have had
no problems. Now, Vista is telling me that the credentials are incorrect. I
KNOW that they are not.

The Workstation, Server and Computer Browser services are all running so
this is not the issue. I can also connect to the laptop FROM the desktop
system. Is there an issue with password encryption perhaps on the VISTA
side? I haven't found any options for changing it or allowing clear text so
I figure that I must be missing something.

Any suggestions?

I too have been seeing odd behavior like this. As a matter of fact, I just
made a post describing my issue a few minutes ago before coming across your
post. Are you getting the System Error Message 1219?

I don't get any error messages except that my credentials were wrong. The
one thing that I should note is that I am connecting via a wireless network.
I can connect to the internet fine and am able to print to a network printer.
I looked for somethng in the Local Security policy thinking that perhaps the
system wasn't communicating passwords in an encryption scheme that my other 2
systems could understand but I didn't see anything obvious.

I'm having the same issue.

My desktop (Vista) can access my laptop (XP) just fine but the blasted
laptop just keeps on asking for the credentials over and over when I try to
re-map my drives. I know the credentials are correct (I even re-did my Vista
password to be absolutely certain).

I'm looking forward to an answer on this one.
